Sweet & juicy! Just like the first book in the series, Peaches. The girls are back for more adventures in this sequel. You'll see how their lives change & what choices they make. Leeda's family never ceases to amaze with their quest for southern perfection, Murphy's fallen hard for Rex & Birdie takes a trip far from home to see Enrico. You'll love following these girls on the road to growing up.

THE SECRETS OF PEACHES takes place where its prequel, PEACHES, left off.

Birdie, Murphy, and Leeda are all beginning their senior year of high school and each facing their own struggles. Birdie is dealing with a long-distance relationship, now that Enrico has gone back to Mexico, as well as worrying about her housekeeper. Murphy is trying to deal with actually having a serious boyfriend and worrying about where she's going to college. Leeda is dealing with a mother who pays more attention to her older sister instead of her and starts becoming more and more distant from everyone, friends included.

The friends and family drama are what keep this novel moving. I truly think that the friendship of Leeda, Birdie, and Murphy is one of the strongest and most realistic one you'll find in YA fiction. If you enjoyed PEACHES, I'm sure you'll like this one, although it does share the one problem from the previous book - it drags horribly in the middle.

Other than that, I definitely recommend it, especially if you enjoyed the first title.

This was a nice coming of age book. It is part of a trilogy and the third book will be due out soon.
The characters are believable young girls that have all the concerns everyone faces that is incorporated into an interesting storyline. A perfect book for a young teenager and an adult as well.

This was a very good book. Hard to get into at first, but like the first one, you have to read a little bit before it sucks you in. I love how the characters change and grow and their personalities amazed me even more. I recommend this book to the people who loved the first book, "Peaches".

Last summer, three very different girls-wild Murphy, perfect Leeda, and shy Birdie-etched there initials on a magnolia tree at Darlington Peach Orchard to symbolize that there friendship would last forever. But can it survive the less-than-peachy year ahead?

Murphy, more in love with Rex than ever, is torn between her big city dreams and following her heartall the way across the railroad tracks and into Rexs arms.

Leeda, nominated to be Bridgewaters pecan queen, basks in the rose-scented glow of her Ice Queen mothers sudden affection-until her sister, the princess, returns.

Birdie, happy for the first time, wants nothing more than to make time stand still. Too bad everything is changing-whether she likes it or not.

The sweet trio of Georgia girls that made PEACHES a national bestseller returns in this delicious and satisfying sequel. This year, Murphy, Leeda, and Birdie discover that bitter endings can lead to sweet new beginningsand that the orchard that brought them together will always be apart of them-even if they leave it behind.

i have to admit that it took me a while to get into the first book, peaches. but it was pretty good. by the time i got through this book i was loving the characters. at first ifelt like it was too much sisterhood of the traveling pants- birdie vs bee, leeda vs. lena and murphy vs. tibby. but i like these characters in a different way. not to mention that ilove the whole georgia aspect and i love love love that mexico city has been thrown in. im looking forward to love and peaches but i dont want the series to end! oh- and they mention taco cabana- hello- my favorite place to eat in atlanta after a night of debauchery!!!
