So much fun. At least as absurd as the previous three.
I just can't say enough good things about this book. The steampunk I've read previously has been rather hit-and-miss. This one's definitely a hit, with a colorful cast of characters, complex world, and simply good style. Comparisons to Philip Pullman are justified; I'd add Kenneth Oppel, Tom Arden, and Gregory Maguire. I am so looking forward to reading the rest of this series.
