Originally published in 1975, they add a few pages of update at the end (Secretariet died in 1989).

I was dissapointed in the first half of the book. Lots of blood line and racing technicalites I didn't understand a lot of. It got better half way through with the training and races. I got a lot different view of the horse racing world from the book than I did from the movie. Not good. Money seems to the important thing.
