In the remote snow-covered mountains near Tibet lies a community long thought to be a mere myth called Shambhala, or Shangri-La. Here, in this place, is knowledge that has been kept hidden for centuries-and an insight that can have profound impact on the way each of us lives our lives.

"The power of our vision and expectation flows out from us as a constant prayer. This power is stronger than anyone now knows, and we must master it and begin to use it before it is too late."....from The Secret Of Shambhala.

When I finished reading Shambhala, I decided to go back and start the series all over again. Redfield's books are wonderful!! I am a visual person, and he writes so that I actually can picture the people, places and events as though I were really there :o)

This is the last book in the series so far. I very much enjoyed them all. Since most of my reading is non fiction, this was very enjoyable light reading. It was fun to contemplate the possibilities that we as a race could possibly advance to live a literally spiritual life at the same time as living a physical life, if that makes sense. Thought provoking, fun, light reading.

Amazon.com says: Author James Redfield takes readers to the mountains of Tibet in search of the mythical place called Shambhala, otherwise known as Shangri-La. Like his previous bestselling books, Redfield holds the tension between an adventure travel story (in this book, armed Chinese soldiers doggedly pursue him) and divine encounters. Rather than preach his spiritual beliefs, Redfield likes to portray himself as a naive pilgrim, receiving wisdom and insights from the various guides and teachers he meets on his metaphysical journeys.
Shambhala is indeed a paradise, just as it was lovingly portrayed in the famous James Hilton novel Lost Horizon. It is also a spiritual utopia, and Redfield takes great pleasure in pondering the possibilities of living in a culture that is entirely "focused on the life process." Residents explain their lifestyle, which has emerged from a completely spiritual culture, including some rather sensible opinions about technology, parenting, and even genetic testing. Meanwhile, Redfield remains the wide-eyed observer. Those who loved the characters, writing style, and epiphanies in The Celestine Prophecy will not be disappointed with Redfield's latest inspirational portrait of a new world order.

Another new adventure by James Redfield, author of The Celestine Prophecy and its sequel, "The Tenth Insight." In the remote snow-covered mountains of Tibet lies a community long thought to be nothing but a myth, called Shambala (or Shangra-la). Here in this place is knowledge that has been kept hidden for centuries--and an insight that can have profound impact on the way each of lives our lives.
The search for Shambala begins with the words of a child and the vision of an old friend. These slender clues will lead to Kathmandu, Nepal, and the City of Lhasa, Tibet. The stunning reality about human prayer-energy is about to be revealed, its impact, and what it can accomplish in the face of a struggle between anger and compassion. Read by famous actor, Lavar Burton (Lt. Commander Geordi LaForge of Star Trek: The Next Generation).

This cassette program has never been opened or used. I read the book. Didn't care for it. I don't want the cassette program. Read by Star Trek: Next Generation's LeVar Burton. This is in mint condition.
