England mid 1800's. First I've read by this author. Not the usual story-line for romance novels at this time, so it did keep my interest. A bit of hidden identity, mistaken allegance and evil protagonist is also mixed in. I only wish the relationship between the hero and heroine would have been strengthened a little more.

Frustratingly slow yet the ending was rushed. It's aggravating when you have a "strong" heroine who suddenly becomes mush whenever the hero's in her radar. There really wasn't a believable connection between the two. Can't stand the cat and mouse scenario. Overall a very disappointing read.
