I loved the first volume of this book, loved the tv series (which may have skewed my feelings about this book) but overall a little disappointed with how abrupt the ending seemed to be within the story. We had learned so many details about characters that I felt there was something missing when I was finished.

Personally I find this way better than her Vampire Diaries books. I still love them do not get me wrong. But this has blackmail, love that can never happen, magic, witch hunts, and many other mysteries. It kept me up at night and I couldn't wait to get my hands on the next one. And now that I have finished it I was pleasantly surprised.
Just finished the conclusion....Upside - This book really picked up and everything started to unfold. Downside - Ending was predictable and the "villain" didn't seem all that scary or tough after all. Pretty good read overall. One of the better Y&A witch series. Thinking I might have to pick up bk 4, even though it is written by a ghost writer.
When we last saw Cassie, she was essentially being blackmailed by Faye, in an attempt to not hurt Diana with the secret of her forbidden relationship with Adam. This one picks up right where the last one left off, since they essentially split the middle book in the trilogy in two for the different omnibus editions.
So, Cassie doesnt like Faye, but doesnt want Diana to know all the wretched things shes been doing for Faye, so she starts stepping away from their friendship. Its an interesting reminder of what high school used to be like, because Ive been out of that environment for so long that I forget how little things like this could be a big deal. In my world, Id just tell Diana what happened, but whatever.
