A surprise ending to a mystery not involing Miss Marple or Poirot. Interesting reading thruout.

Christie sucked all the suspense out of this novel by creating a protagonist who is unflappable. He is so cool that no matter how much mystery surrounds him, he is able to come up with a witty one-liner to kill the mood. I love Christie but I need some emotion besides this kid being a smart ass to hold my interest.

I decided to reread Agatha Christie mysteries. I was not disappointed. It has been a while so I didn't remember the characters and the ending. There were a lot of characters, but I didn't have trouble keeping track of them. She always makes her characters come alive. The mystery was complicated and a really great 'surprise' ending. Recommend.

One of my favorite Christies (and I've read them all), as it combines the usual masterful intrigue with humor and romance- a perfect combination!
