Hit or Myth [Myth Adventures • 4] (1983) / novel by Robert Asprin: The apprentice Skeeve is just getting used to his duties as Court Magician of Possiltum. Then King Rodrick takes a powder leaving Skeeve in his place to marry his homicidal fiancee Hemlock--Queen Hemlock possesses the sort of face and figure that feature in the "before" bit in adverts. Her habits are charming too: they fall into the category of homicidal--and face the tender mercies of Bruce, the Mob's fairy godfather who wants Skeeve working for him...or not at all. On top of that, Aahz has taken a forced vacation, a two-ton demon has a crush on Skeeve, and both Possiltum and Deva are about to be invaded. It looks like Skeeve has gotten himself into another fine myth...
Myth-ing Persons [Myth Adventures • 5] (1984) / novel by Robert Asprin: Skeeve is in a real pickle this time. His partner Aahz has disappeared and it looks like foul play. Finding Aahz ought to be a snap for a talented magician like Skeeve, especially with a sassy apprentice and a dumb but brawny bodyguard along for the ride. The trouble is, they're sleuthing in another dimension: a strange and chilly realm where day is night and humans are considered monsters. Add a murder rap, a couple of vampires, and the fact that magic doesn't work here, and you've got a trio in real hot water--that is, unless Skeeve finds a different trick up his sleeve!
Little Myth Marker [Myth Adventures • 6] (1985) / novel by Robert Asprin: Skeeve bluffs his way into a high-stakes game of dragon poker-and wins! But now he's left with Markie, a pint-sized IOU left by a player who went broke. She conjures up a house full of trouble every time she tries to cast a spell. And now the dragon poker champion has challenged Skeeve to a game-with a pot of half a million. And jealous opponents of the young magician Skeeve and his demon mentor have hired a top Character Assassin to force them out of business.
