Really enjoyed this particular novel of Ms. Tyler. Love this eccentric couple, fun to watch them. Also got a kick out of the idyocyncrasies of this clan. I found it a rather sweet ending...not typical of Tyler.
Another thought-provoking novel by Tyler. This one asks several questions to apply to the reader's own life and left me thinking about Justine's and Duncan's and Caleb's life journies. The variety of the characters, one of Tyler's strong points, made the story a very interesting one.
One of Ann Tyler's best, these colorful characters will stay in your mind forever.

Her grandfather, Daniel, longs to find the brother who walked out of his life in 1912, with nothing more than a fiddle in his hand. All three are taking journeys that lead back to the family's deepest roots...to a place where rebellion and acceptance have the haunting power to merge into one...."
