I believe a early book that has not been republished yet. Even back in 1982, Nora's writings was and will always been beautiful. It's an amazing piece to read.

Serenity Smith receives a letter from a grandmother she's never known about. Her parents were recently killed in a plane crash. She's a strong American-bred woman who can't decide if she's being bullied by this distant 'cousin', Christophe, or if he cares for her. In her meeting with grandma, she's told of her mother's heritage and dishonorable marriage to her American father and makes accusations that her father stole a invaluable painting and her grandmother wants it returned.

Ultimately, Serenity wants what every woman craves, the kind of devoted love her parents had for each other and in the end she realizes she must choose between the man who she feels she's 'settling' for (Tony) or the man (Christophe) who puts fire in her heart, her spirits and her temper.

Makes you wonder if love is supposed to be comfortable, calm and serene...or? Maybe real love involves temper, high emotions, confusion and fear.
