This is Iris Johansen's third book in her series featuring Eve Duncan, although it's the first one I've read. What can I say? Now that I've tried one, I have to go check out the others.

This book was what I had hoped Dean Koontz's Darkest Evening of the Year would be like: a thriller in which a golden retriever features prominently, with plenty of action and romance. The story centers around a woman and her search and rescue dog Monty. They are unwittingly caught up in a scenario involving industrial espionage, murder, and revenge.
Dog lovers will adore Monty, and this book does provide an interesting look into the world of canine search and rescue. The book follows the usual Johansen format - the briskly moving plot whisks readers to different corners of the earth, and a strong yet vulnerable heroine saves the day with the help of a men she is not sure she can trust. This is an enjoyable quick read.

I couldn't put this book down. I'm regretting it today as I didn't close my eyes to sleep until 2am. Great quick read and I love the characters. If you're a dog lover you'll love the main character in this book, Monty the golden retriever. You won't regret this book.
For better or for worse, Johansen pushes the gender boundary in popular fiction, offering up that rarity: a woman's novel for men.

If you like dogs, a little mystery/adventure and a good looking man you'll like this book. Sarah and Monty (the dog) have a neat relationship. This romance is a little different because it is the female character that really evolves with the help of the hunky hero. An enjoyable read.
Another very good book. It has John Logan, Eve Duncan, and Sarah Patrick in it. I read the whole book in one sitting.

Great book. I read it in one day. The story had lots of twists and turns.
Good book, although I didn't think it was one of Johansen's best. Good story line. Usually in my opinion her books are real page turners.

Another "spin-off" from the Eve Duncan series. You rooted for Logan and Sarah in those books and now they have their own story. The K-9 aspect was a very nice touch.
I really enjoyed this book. Sometimes I get bored with her books, but not with this one.

This book branches off from the Eve Duncan thrillers with a new character Sarah that is a member of a K-9 search and rescue team. The book also includes some of the chatacters from the previous thrillers. Again I really enjoyed this read!
Excitment and intrique abound in this book. I already knew and loved these charaters from prior books. Another great Johansen book.
