Being a bit wiped out from this holiday i sat down to relax and just read a few pages of my new book, A Seahorse in the Thames. Before i knew it i was more than 3/4th's of the way done and it was dark outsid!. I could not put the book down! This was a lovely story--never preachy and no rolling around in the bed love scenes. It was a story about family love and love of friends. Perfect for this season. Such an honest feel came from the pages and it flowed so smoothly i could not quit reading. I more than got the break i was looking for when i sat down with this book. The title really has a very small part in the story, until you get to the end and read the authors view of it--then it all clicks-- but if i tell you what it means,it will ruin the story for those who want to read this novel. Basically it is the story of a family of three daughters, mom and dad--spit apart after two terrible tragic events take place. One daughter trying to hold it all together and she happens upon a man who is kind and finds herself attracted to him when he falls off of her roof. After 15 years of trying to hold what is left of her family together, her twin sister comes home and the family starts to heal in the only way they know how. This book is a hard one to part with and i may end up requesting it again to read once more in the future. But my rule, as hard as it is sometimes to follow-- is to share the good. So tomorrow out it goes to the next on the list. I hope everyone else who reads this enjoys it as much as i did. I loved it.

Excellent story that really spoke of the challenges of life as a family. The differences between siblings, what happens in a broken family and how the siblings cope and adapt as they grow and mature. All these are subtly addressed with compassion and grace in the midst of a tale of mystery with some gentle romance thrown in the mix.
Loved this book, as well as all of Susan Meissner's books...she is one of my favs!
I loved this book! Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. It was a good romance story & then some. I would reccommend it.
If you like Susan Meissner you will love this book. One of the best!
