While I enjoyed the book, I found the beginning to be a bit tedious and couldn't find myself really getting into it until the last few chapters.
It was an okay read. Interesting enough for me to want to read the other books in the series. The heroine annoyed the heck out of me. She started out strong in my mind then became the "annoying damsel in distress" character who just fell flat. The thing I really did enjoy was the story about the Selkies. I hope the other books in the series have less aggravating female characters.
Loved it, Its good to see where these novels started out with 700 year old selkie Margred 'Maggie' and a war vet & Chief Police Caleb Hunter. Maggie struggles with feelings she don't know nothing about with Caleb, who is head over heels in love with Maggie. Caleb has for deal with Maggie getting hit in the head and a murdered selkie, who was killed by a Child of fire, who wants to eliminate selkies to the Sea Prince to step up and go after humans for some reasons. On top of this Caleb has to deal with his long lost brother Dylan (who hated anyone that is human, but I cant wait to read the second book with Dylan fallen in love with a human woman with owns the restaurant)
like it good story too. going to order the 2nd book.
Love this book. Can't wait to finish the whole series.
