On the eve of the tenth anniversary of the death of their fellow sorority sister Rachel, Brynn, Cassie, Fiona, and Tildy each receive a birthday card that has them wondering if Rachel died that fateful night she fell over a cliff while drunkenly celebrating her 20th birthday their sophomore year in college. The four never reported the accident for fear that their sorority would shut down, or worse, they would be charged in her death. When they meet for the first time in many years to plan their next steps, old rivalries and the need to keep the past a secret have them going their separate ways. Then one by one, they fall victim to a killer who goes the extra mile in gruesome, setting up a macabre birthday party for each victim on her 30th birthday. Rachel's step-brother Isaac has been searching for Rachel for the past ten years, and every relationship has suffered as a result. Could he be so distraught that he wants to get even with the quartet?
Staub tosses out several potential killers and manages to surprise the reader with the revelation. Each of the women has a distinct personality and plenty of drama in their own lives. At nearly 500 pages, the novel is so well written that the pages just flow. It still amazes me that Staub is the same woman who writes romance novels under the pseudonym Wendy Markham! "Don't Scream" is a taut thriller that will have you second guessing at each turn.

Once again Wendy Corsi Staub has left jaw dropped at the twisting plot of her books. Every time I think I have the answer something happens and I think its something else only to find out in the very end that I was soo far off that It leaves me utterly impressed that you can put so many clues there without the reader seeing them .

In a remote, heavily wooded area near the Berkshires of Massachuetts, Rachel Lorant died on her birthday. But she didn't die alone. That night, her four sorority sisters make a solemn, trembling pledge. They will never reveal what has just happened in those woods - ever. Instead, they will take their terrible secret to their graves. Now ten years later, their secret is coming back to haunt them as each receives a card in the mail from Rachel: "Happy birthday to me, XOXO, R." It is clear that someone knows what happened that night. The sins of the past have come back with a vengeance, and a killer will see that they all pay in blood....

Wendy Corsi Staub has some good books and some so-so books. I thought this one was one of the better ones. Keeps you guessing, and was hard to put down.

Here's another one that kept me up all night. Four sorority sisters pledge to keep quiet about something awful that happened ten years ago. Unfortunately, someone knows their secret and vows revenge. I love this author's writing style. It's suspenseful, thought provoking and keeps you on the edge of your seat.
