Ummm, I don't know. It really seemed to me that the world and Atticus kind of got off easy. He was warned before killing Thor that he would bring about an awful destiny, and more pain than he could imagine, but he said 'screw you I'm doing it anyway" So he survived, not without pain and suffering, but at the end it looks like he can restore what was lost with a little help. Will that really be a lesson?
So in the end of the world battle, all those deities and unspeakably strong monsters just go down with a couple stabs here and there. That was easy. I guess Hearne couldn't go over a certain word count, and he had to get in the meat and gravy bar for the dogs.
Looked at from a structure standpoint, and flow, I don't think splitting up the Druids worked.
I don't blame Granuile at all for what she did at the end. That said, I ddn't particularly like her storyline here. There she is, in a fight for her life with one of those Yama Kings, and she's having massive philosophical debates with herself. I see what Hearne was trying to do, but c'mon, that's not what you're thinking about when you're fighting. Even if you are a bad-ass Druid. I liked her part with Loki though. and I did think it was good to keep Owen out of it; the world would need Druids if Loki was defeated, and he's got a good start. But seriously - a sloth? C'mon.
There were parts I liked, but basically I'm glad it's over.
