In thesensuous world of long-ago New Orlenas, dreams were promised, and passion grew hot on the street known as The Scarlet Thread. And it was here, in this exotic city, that the dark haired Creole beauty Desiree La Fleur came to reform her Sisters of Sinc, those fallen women whose lives began and ended on the street. But Desiree had yet to learn that deep in her soul there breathed a woman of such voluptuous passion that she would do anything to be with Roman St. Vincent, the man she loved-a man who made it clear he did not want a wife. I thought this was a great book!
