The story brings an older James Brady back to Korea to walk the ground and see the sights he recalled as a young officer during the Korean conflict in the early '50s. Now having 40 years to reflect, he mixes his experience during the war with the man he has become. The difficulties he has getting into and around the country are intersperced with difficulties reconciling his past. A very moving and important story and a great followup to his previous book. It does stand on its own however.
