Boring, predictable, by the numbers Victorian romance about a girl betrothed as a baby to an Italian count, whom she meets at 17 with the usual I-hate-him-but-I-want-him reaction. Hero Max is the usual completely perfect sex machine. I stopped really reading about 1/3 of the way through and spot-read some of the rest of it. This book could be a lesson in how to do dull & trite books to fill a publisher's schedule. It makes me wonder why so many good romance authors can't find a new publisher yet stuff like this gets published.

Victorian that feels more like Regency -- about a headstrong, rebellious young girl who grows up knowing that she belongs to a happy family -- brother, mother & father.
She discovers that the truth is something different -- her mother is her aunt and she is betrothed to a count from Italy -- who has come to get her so they can be married.
