Typical Lori Foster - but Better!! Better writing, better and more believeable storyline, better character development. This might be her best book yet. I could not put this one down.

By far, this was my favorite out of the series, so far. Jackson will have you laughing out loud throughout the book. The mystery in this book was, in my opinion, the best one of the series and keeps you guessing throughout your reading. This was a hard book to put down!!

I used to love Lori Foster but I have discovered that she has become a "hit or miss" author for me. This book was painful to read and I am really thinking of billing her for the time I spent reading this nonsense (And I only read about 1/3 of the book before I decided I have wasted enough of my time on it). If you have never read Foster before, don't bother with this series. Outside of Trace's story they all suck. She had a few series that were a lot of fun and this one wasn't it.

First of all the writing was horrible and redundant. Scenes were dragged out. In fact, everything was dragged out and if she edited out a big chunk of it the book might have been bearable. I know the scene where Trace and Dare found out Jackson was drugged and had gotten together with Alani was supposed to be funny, but it wasn't. It took forever and I got sick of everyone fronting repeatingly. Plus Jackson would make out with Alani in the middle of the conversation with no reason and it didn't work with the "urgency" to get them into safety. It wasn't hot. It was boring, dumb, and immature. I had no idea why entire pages were deticated to Alani not wanting to stay with Jackson only for her to give in all of a sudden, without reason. Motivation for characters were shakey at best and Jackson (who was so cute and such a bad boy in Trace's story) was just overwhelmingly obnoxious. He was like a 13 year old boy discovering his first Playboy magazine. If I was Alani, I would worried that he had already bragged about their get-together to all his friends. Oh, wait. He did.

I felt bad for not being able to finish the book because I was curious to find out who drugged Jackson and why. But I really tried and I just couldn't do it. It was one of the worst things I have ever read by Foster. It made me wonder if she really has an editor or if she even lets other people read it first before it was published.

Utter waste of time.

She may be aloof, and more pretty than gorgeous, but Alani Rivers is the kind of woman a hot-blooded mercenary can't forget, no matter how hard he tries. So when Jackson Savor wakes up next to the naked, sleeping beautywith no memory of what happenedhe knows he's been druggedeven if Alani doesn't.

After she was kidnapped, Alani vowed never to trust another man again. Still, something about this strong, sexy hero with the tender touch makes her want to believe him. As Jackson hunts down a mysterious intruder, he swears he'll move heaven and earth to keep Alani safe. But what really happened that night? And will the truth bring them closer than they ever thought possibleor put Alani squarely in harm's way again?
