Setting: New york City, 1880's
In this gothic tale, Millicent Cobb finds romance but loses her fiance in a
freak accident the night after she conceives her son. Her
brother Henry and his wife Maria agree to raise the child.
When Maria dies, Sarah Cunningham becomes Henry's new wife
and take up the story. Again a sudden death brings tragedy
and scandal to the affluent Cobbs.
