This grabbed me right away and kept me turning pages. A small Texas town where a tragic night and an unsolved disappearance 10 years ago still have reeling effects on the lives there. There are surprising twists in this tale almost from the very beginning. It is both tragic and triumphant and you will be rooting for some of these characters to the end.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Black-eyed Susans by Julia Heaberlin so looked forward to reading this one.

I admit, I always read late at night so when I was confused while reading first chapter, I attributed it to being tired. Next night I started reading earlier, a bit more rested. First chapter still very confusing but I plodded on. It took reading half of the book before these three intertwined stories made sense. The ending was worth reading the entire book.

Short Summary: Small town Texas cop Odette Tucker has never been able to escape what happened 10 yrs ago - the disappearance of Trumanell Branson, the most popular girl-next-door-best-thing-since-sliced-white-bread. Posters still scream for the return of the town's princess. All eyes (and gossip) have pointed at Wyatt, Trumanell's brother. And he's just discovered a strange one-eyed girl sitting in a field, alone. What does he know? What does Odette know? Secrets... secrets... everywhere.
