This book had me pissed off almost the entire time....but that's the great thing about Picoult's writing. She pulls you into the story so much, that you feel what the characters feel. I could not put it down because I wanted so badly to see how everything would play out. A suspicion I had about a character early in the book was put to rest when nothing had come of it near the end, but then BAM!!! Right there it was in the very last sentence, and I was literally left with my jaw hanging to the floor. Great book!!

"Salem Falls" was hard to put down. The characters' experiences provide different viewpoints on similar topics, that is, false accusation of rape vs. reactions of rape victims. Presented in flashback form, characters are developed and their motivations become understood. Jodi Picoult is effective at adding to the layers of the story as well as in peeling back layers of the different characters' personalities. She is also good at making situations real, and attacking issues in our society today, and this novel is a great example of that...I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves to read.

This is the second book I've read by Jodi Picoult. It took me a few chapters to get into it, and I'm sure glad I didn't give up, as I usually do. It's an engrossing story and kept me reading well into the night.

Jodi Picoult writes about current social issues. In Salem Falls she addresses child molestation and the shadow that follows those who have been accused of child molestation. Really good book. Hard to put down because of the writing and subject.

Picoult is an excellent writer. She keeps the reader very involved. It was hard to put this one down, and there are surprises down to the very last paragraph.

One of Jodi Picoult's best. Suspenseful and surprising, I couldn't put the book down.

This _Crucible_ knock-off is probably my least favorite of her books. Probably because it is the most unbelievable. I mean how could someone be convicted once for a crime he did not commit and then nearly be convicted of the same crime again? It's just ridiculous.

I guess it's nice that Jordan McAfee is back in it - that's one of the redeeming facets. It also follows her same courtroom formula.

I usually love Jodi Picoult. I like how she tackles various issues. But, this is not her best work. It was slow starting and I felt like I knew how it ended before I even started, Kind of predictable. Turns out it was an OKAY book but like I said not her best.

This book by Picoult is a twist on the Salem Witch trials. It involves four young teenage girls who are involved with wicca, and are just learning to navigate in the world of adults; and when they don't get what they want from the new stranger in town they aim to show him what 'witches' in todays age can be capable of doing to someone. Jack has been accused of one false crime and after moving to Salem Falls, falling for the local waitress, and starting the threads of a new life he finds himself involved in a new scandal that might send him to jail for the rest of his natural life if he cannot convince the local populace or perhaps a jury to believe in his innocence.

Salem Falls explores the darker side of sexuality and lies that happen everyday in the lives of teenagers, adults and people around the world; have you ever wished someone ill and then heard they were in a car wreck and wondered just for a moment if your thought could have had some link to it? This book explores the possibilites of magic and how they are still active even in today's society. Salem Falls, opens your mind to looking closer and listening more to the people around you. People and events may not always be what they seem. The book was a pretty quick read; the characters were flatter for me than other Picoult novels but the storyline kept me reading. It was the plot of the book that I enjoyed more than anything. I would recommend it but I have other books by this author I've enjoyed more.

I loved this book! Lots of different types of characters with powerful personalities. I loved that there was an overshadowing beginning that made me keep reading. I have definitely become a Jodi Picoult fan through this book.

I LOVE jodi Picoult, and this book did not disappoint! There were a lot of smaller stories/mysteries within the story, and I couldnt wait to get to the end to get to the bottom of everything. This wasnt my FAVE Picoult book, but still well worth reading and highly recommended.
