This is the second book I've read by JoAnn Ross and I was as blown away by this one as the first I read. This book really grabs ahold of your attention and keeps the mystery going until the very end. Great book!

Quick, fast-paced read. Leaned more on the romance than the suspense and took a couple fun turns along the way. JoAnn Ross has become one of my favorite authors over the past year. Nick and Kate are perfect for each other.

A decent thriller and love story about a female Chicago homicide cop who goes to New Orleans to find her sister's killer. A hunky private P.I., recently thrown off the New Orleans police force, helps her.

I felt really sorry for Kate in this book. It seems doing the right thing doesn't pay in her situation. Great book. Keeps you on your toes and I love the twist at the end!
Kate Delaney is a Chicago homicide dect. Who has testified about police corruption. Her twin is a hooker in New Orleans. When Kate is called and told her sister commited sucide she heads to New Orlenes to find the truth. There she is faced with police corruption all over again. She teams up with an ex Navy SEALS who justs happens to have been kicked off the police force for coruption. Can they both survive to learn the truth both seek?
Set in post Katrina New Orleans, it's a murder mystery/romance novel.
Great romantic suspense from JoAnn Ross! Chicago homicide detective Kate Delaney travels to New Orleans after learning her twin sister has committed suicide. Not believing her sister would take her own life, Kate is determined to find out the truth. She finds help in the form of ex Navy SEAL/ex NOPD officer Nick Broussard, now a New Orleans private detective, who's also working to find out who killed his father. Great, fast paced storyline with a good HEA.
An excellant read for anyone who likes suspense and drama. Highly recommend.
The was a great book. Grabs from the very beginning and keeps going.
Chicago homicide detective Kate Delaney fiercely defends victims. Which is why-despite death threats-she's testifying to a federal grand jury about local police corruption. Its also why she's infuriated by the New Orleans police department's blase attitude towards her estranged sister's death. But pursing an investigation in a strange city means allying with someone who knows the territory. And the players. Someone with a total disregard for the rules. As an ex-cop from a police family, New Orleans PI Nick Broussard knows that cops live by their own code. You don't rat out a fellow officer. The last thing he needs is some smart-mouthed, by the book outsider unknowingly injecting herself into his undercover search for the truth. Even worse is the way she conjures up visions of tangled sheets......Nick and Kate's chase pits them against the criminal underworld of the sultry southern city. And as they peel away layers of deadly deception, they discover a dark secret too many are willing to kill to keep.....

Take a terrific murder mystery, a little voodoo, a combustible attraction between a Cajun ex SEAL and a stunningly beautiful Chicago detective and you have one heck of a great read.
