This is a great book. My children were really interested in reading more about the bombing of Japan when were through. We are doing a WWII unit study so this fit right in with our book list. They have a section in the back that gives instructions for making origami cranes.
A story that will raise lots of questions in the minds of young readers. The answering of them will help adults understand, too.
A great book, small with large print and pictures every other page. Great for children, but can be read by adults too.

A wonderful book about a girl with courage and hope. Her life is cut short due to the atomic bomb. An excellent addition to a WWII unit study.
I loved this book when we read it in my third grade class, and I've read it a few times since then. It's a beautiful, but sad story.
Great book!!!!! Very sad....... But great!
Based on a true story about a girl that was born in Hiroshima, Japan. She developes Leukemia from the radiation and recalls a Japanese legend. So she sets out to fold 1000 paper cranes. Good book we enjoyed reading about the Japanese customs.

Sad and sweet... this was my daughter's favorite book from the time she was 6 until she turned 9. It is good for people who have an interest in death and dying and the spirit of those final days.
I love this beautiful, inspiring story!
This is a sad story, but it is inspiring how Sadako did not give up hope and kept fighting till her last days.
I loved this book when I read it for the first time as a child & I loved it reading it again as an adult. It really puts a human face on the after effects of war.
Thoughtful and teaches good values.
