There's no escaping the sizzling heat of the Washington summer...or the twisted ministry of "The Priest" -- a madman who is strangling slender, petty blondes with the white silk scarf of a priest, and leaving notes to his victims. A must read, one of Noraa's best books.

One of Nora Roberts' earlier books (1987), good as far as low budget horror/romances go but not as good as her more recent work.

I read this about 2 years ago, so all I have is the impression that it was a good read of the suspense/serial killer type. It had some twists a little different from some of the others. I did enjoy this book.

Detective Ben Paris is trying to solve the murders of women being strangled by someone who seems to somehow be connected to the Catholic church... is it a priest, a former priest...or just someone who sees himself as the person who has to make atonement, and for what? Dr. Tess Court is the psychiarist appointed to profile the killer and help the police find their man. When Ben and Tess are teamed together, sparks begin to fly, in more ways than one. A really great read that will keep you turning the pages.

Learning to trust each other is the first step to love. But doing so while being somewhat disapproving of the others profession is difficult. Add to that a deep need to track down a killer or a painfully desperate patient, depending upon your perspective, makes for complications. But the cop and the psychiatrist learn to understand and trust each other and fall in love in the process. Good murder mystery!

In the lazy days of summer, a merciless heat wave is the biggest story in Washington DC. But the weather is knocked off the front pages when a young woman is found strangled to death. A note left behind reads 'Her sins are forgiven her.' Two more victims soon follow and suddenly every headline is devoted to the killer the press has dubbed the "Priest."

When the police ask top-notch psychiatrist Dr. Tess Court to help with their investigation, she comes up with a disturbing portrait of a twisted soul.

Detective Ben Paris doesn't give a damn about the killer's psyche. What he can't easily dismiss is Tess. Tall, dark and good-looking, Ben has a legendary reputation with women, but the cooly elegant Tess doesn't react to him like other women he's known -- and he finds the challenge enticing. Now, as the two are thrown together in a perilous quest to stop a serial killer, the flame of white-hot passion flares. But someone also has his eyes on the beautiful blond doctor...and Ben can only pray that if the madman strikes, he'll be able to stop him before it's too late...

Thriller meets romance a la Nora Roberts. Better written than her more romance-heavy books, this was a fun read with interesting plot - rather like a CSI episode.

Some sins are unforgivable....
A madman is strangling pretty blondes with the white silk scarf of a priest, leaving notes that forgive his victims.
Enter Tess Court - the pretty slender blonde shrink assigned to the case and Ben Paris, the magnetic police sargeant in charge of the investigation.
Interest is building, but someone else has his eyes on Tess, someone that dreams of "saving" her and cleansing her soul.....
