Louis L'amour is a fantastic western writer; and his books are very clean, too. The Sackett novels are some of his best. I really enjoyed this one. Now I'm reading it again!

Good book.
A western written by the great Louis L'Amour.
A really good book
I have never read a Louis L'amour book, that I did not like!!
William Tell Sackett finds a vein of pure gold, more gold than he ever dreamed of and more trouble than he'd ever tackled. To top it all off a girl is right in the middle of it with nobody else to pull her through than Tell and Tell finds himself standing between her and a very dangerous band of outlaws.

Where Orrin had brought law and order from New Mexico to the plains of Montana, backed up by the gunfighting talents of his brother Tye, Tell Sackett destiny drew him to Texas after he had to kill a man. There in the high, lonesome country he came upon a vein of pure gold. All he wanted was enough to buy a ranch, but he soon learned that gold had ways of its own with men.
