Price has a particular way of making his women characters stand out and with enough will to stand on their own. While the the story is of one family in particular, Price shows deep feelings about all his characters, the weak and the strong. Rosacoke is a determined young woman who has to believe in herself enough to believe the choices that she makes, for love, are the right ones even if they are the wrong ones.

I've read quite a few of Price's books, certainly working my way through them. Some are better than others but I've enjoyed the time spent with them.
