This is the first book in Sherryl Woods's The Devaneys series. The Devaneys are 5 brothers separated when Ryan, the oldest, was 9 years old. Their parents abandoned the 3 oldest brothers and took the youngest twins. They left them when Ryan & Sean were in school only to come home to an empty apartment and told by a neighbor, who was watching Michael, that they had left. The boys were separated into different foster homes and did not see each other again. Now as adults, they are trying to live their lives not knowing why they were abandoned and struggling to make lasting relationships.

Ryan meets Maggie O'Brien on the day before Thanksgiving and his life is never the same again. Maggie works hard to show Ryan what loves really is. He fights her but she never gives up on him. Can Ryan find his other brothers?

I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait to read the rest of the series to find out how each brother turned out and why the boys were abandoned by their parents. Sherryl makes you want to keep reading about this family.
