Terrible book. Poor character development and absolutely no romantic build between the characters. Both characters were weak and truly annoying. Sadly, this is a goldmine of a premise that was squandered by the writer. I've never read Maya Bank books before and I'm wary of reading her again.
There's a fine line between titillating and sexual and demeaning. The book tipped way over to demeaning.

Gabe wanted Mia for years just as she wanted him. When he finally decides to take that step, he makes her sign a contract to ensure that his public figure will not be compromised. Things between them heat up fast and as soon as Mia signs it, shes expected to be in his will. But what scares her the most is that she loves it. and she might not ever recover after a man like Gabe Hamilton.
He kissed her as though he were starved for her. Like he'd been held away from her and had finally broken free. It was the kind of kiss that lived only in her fantasies. No one had ever made her feel so..consumed.
The story was a little much for me since Im not very big on erotica. But since there was a lot of story to it, I still enjoyed reading about Gabe and Mia and how their relationship progressed. I wish I could have seen more emotions throughout the book and not just dirty, rough sex scenes that were getting boring very fast.
You can't control everything. You can't control how someone feels about you. Or what makes them tick. You can only control how you react, how you act, how you think and feel.
Best part of the book was definitely the ending. It was emotional, beautiful, and sweet. Something that the rest of the story lacked. I hope that second book in Breathless Trilogy will be better.

I liked it. Rush may not have been on par with a couple of my favorites in the Sweet series, but I enjoyed Gabe and Mia's relationship dynamic. Gabe was an exciting dominant, and I didn't think he ill-treated Mia at all. Mia was curious, if a little hesitant, but her years-long attraction to Gabe helped to understand why she decided to be with him under his terms. However, Mia was no pushover; neither was she an obnoxiously stubborn person fighting Gabe every step of the way. The sex was at turns titillating and outright hot. Gabe's unflagging sexual appetite certainly was a rush. The story lost a little steam when Gabe became overwhelmed with guilt over his perceived bad treatment of her, but weirdly, at the same time that's when their relationship turned romantic. It still worked for me. Rush is a good read at 3.5 stars.
If you liked FSOG, you'll probably like this book too. I however hated both.
The character development was perfunctory, and I couldn't get past the fact that no matter how you dress it up, he paid her for sex. I loved the Sweet series, but this was a huge disappointment.

Glad I read the other two books in the series first because I couldn't get into Mia or Gabe. I had a real hard time with Mia because emotionally she was so young. She had no direction of what she wanted to do with her life and Gabe basically offering her to be his personal high price hooker didn't quite do it for me. I couldn't master enough interest to finish up the book.
The other two in the series are much better: "Fever" and "Burn."

Good Book not great but good. Reminded me of FSOG, but not as good. Decent characters, okay story, and steamy sex scenes. The characters that seemed to be the most interesting to me were Ash and Jace. They were introduced in this book and the next two books will be about them. So I will definitely be reading them.
This would have been an excellent kind of story to really get into but the author missed a great chance to do that with overkill on the sex.
There was a good storyline developing and enough that it will hold your interest and keep you hoping for more.

Maya Bank always writes great stories. This book is no different. Although I loved this story, I had a hard time with Gabe and his jerkish behavior especially his behavior in Paris. I can't really decide if i like him or not. Although he redeems himself with the way he proposed to Mia.
This series is FANTASTIC!!! It starts off strong and just keeps getting better. The Trio is A MUST BUY!!
The dirty sex scenes got old fast. No emotion and no story until the end when there was some more romance and then it finally got good. Not in a rush to finish this series.
First book to a really good series!! Luv it!! :-)
enjoyed the series
