I struggled with reading this book. The character was interesting as were the rest of her family, but it was basically about average living on an Amish farm. The thing that I struggled with the most was the way Lizzie (the main character) whined and complained about having to do chores, about her weight, about her sisters being loved more than her, etc. It just got old to me that she was constantly whining about something and so lazy! It also was annoying that she was constantly pigging out. I don't know . . . I think I just didn't care for her character overall.
One interesting thing though is that in the back of the book, they include recipes of things that Lizzie's family ate. I thought that was a neat idea!

I think this is a good book for yong adults to read. You do not have to be Amish but just trying to figure out what life has for you.
