Georgina felt her mouth captured with startling swiftness by Major Jack Hampton. She felt her breast cupped with seductive skill by his large hand. She felt her eyes closing, her body yielding. With an effort, she opened her eyes. She pressed her hands urgently to his chest. Unwillingly, he released her, and stepped away. "How dare you, sir?" she demanded. "How dare you do such a thing?" "You were eminently kissable, my dear," Jack explained. Georgina could not contain her fury. "Can you actually have the unmitigated gall to believe that I relished being reated like a...like a dairymaid? A debauched dairymaid in the bargain." "I doubt very much that you would be mistaken for a dairymaid," Jack said. "Especially not a debauched one." He grinned. "For one thing, no dairymaid I know every complained about being kissed by Jack Hampton." (From inside cover)
I don't believe this is actually part of the Seven Corinthians Series, but Jack Hampton is the cousin of one of the Seven Corinthians.
A decent read. She is a spoiled daughter of a duke who was forced into a marriage at a young age, but 10 yrs later, she refuses to be led down that path again, and under the guise of being plain Miss Bennett. He is a widower, and a military man. They initially dislike each other, but then fall in love, until her father finds her location and drags her back to marry a Marquess, and the Major betrays her by bowing to her father's accusations that he is unworthy. After his aunt rings a peal over his head, her follows her back to London to see if he can win her back.
