Maybe it's because I didn't read the first two books in this series but I found Runaway to be extremely confusing! I just couldn't follow it at all and it was really boring as well which is surprising because I like Meg Cabot's other books. If you do read this book, you absolutely need to read the first two in the series (Airhead and Being Nikki) before reading this one or you'll be totally lost, just like I was!

As is typical of Meg Cabot's books, everything is wrapped up nicely without overexcessive drama and writing. Em's down-to-earth attitude paired with Cabot's usual "teen girl" voice provides for a great narrator. As this is the last of a trilogy, I have to say that the ending was good, if not, perhaps, worth getting through two books of mostly drivel to get to this point. It's shocking, it's smart, and it's totally plausible within the realm of Em's world.
The biggest problem that remains with me after reading this trilogy is that this could've easily been a one-book storyline, and RUNAWAY does give the impression that Cabot intentionally stretched it into a trilogy for financial reasons. Still, fans of the AIRHEAD series will love the way the plot develops throughout the course of these three books. If you've made it through BEING NIKKI, then you should definitely read RUNAWAY: it'll satisfy all your questions and leave you content.

Wow was this book the worst book Meg has EVER written. This book was way drawn out, very dull, very boring. The action sequences were all too fast at the end and the ending happened way too fast. She could have focused more on the ending instead of the beginning where she draws out Nikki and Brandon's feuding which was beyond annoying. I'm glad this series is over, it needed to end as all she was doing was dragging out the series for more money.

I don't know why I keep reading books in this series. It just fails to capture my attention. It took months to finish because I kept reading other, more interesting, books. Meg Cabot has much better series like the 1-800 or Mediator books.
