This has got to be one of the best "Rumpole's" John Mortimer has written! Imagine "She Who Must Be Obeyed" writing her on memoirs and her versions of Rumpoles' cases and their own "romance". It also brings Rumpole into the Post 9/11 era which is interesting, but also a little sad. But Rumpole finds his way around the new laws, but there is a surprise ending! I highly recommend Rumpole to anyone who loves the Agatha Christie, Ngaio Marsh genre.
