I first read Skye in 2010 and loved her Code Name series. This is a "sweeping saga" romance from the early '90s and not my cup of tea. It has foggy London streets, mistaken identity, amnesia, kidnapping, rescues, rape, exotic jungle locales, questions of birthright, a mysterious ruby, and a cast of characters to support it all. If you're looking for 500+ pages in your next romantic read, this may fit the bill. Just be forewarned that it's from the "no means yes" era of romance writing.
Has the feel of an epic, with a tense, involved plot. The story centers around "the ruby", a significant Ceylonese tea plantation, a tortured hero and heroine,a truly despciable villain and a cast of supporting characters out of central booking. Lots of intrigue, set in the glorious beauty of Ceylon jungles with some truly vicious twists and turns. Several kinds of sizzle.
sensuous, swashbuckling & wildly romantic!!
