This was a very fast moving book. The characters were compelling and the story well designed. The I was a little skeptical that the book would be boring or slow because it is an older book, however I was delighted to discover that it was anything but. The hero of the story mistakes the lady for a woman who has betrayed him. I enjoyed that the lady didn't crumble and become a predictable heroine in distress, instead she was strong and dealt with her situation with courage, wit, and believability. The sex scenes were very sensual. Good book.
Angeline was living a quiet life with her aunt in the steamy countryside near New Orleans. It was there that Rolfe, the golden-haired, handsome prince of the tiny country of Ruthenia, mistook her for his brother's mistress and kidnapped her. Taking her to his bed, Rolfe soon discovered that Angeline had been a virgin. But a virgin no longer, the prisoner of Rolfe, what future could there be for Angeline?
