This book was ok. Typical McCaffrey romance stuff. The ending picked up with an alien invasion. I just really couldn't get into this book though. It was long and more about finding romance and also her family. Other than that... it was kind of dull.

Decent romantic science fiction. The early Acorna books were better in my opinion but this one had good background info.

A good enough story, but didn't grab me like McCaffrey's Pern series.

My first introduction to McCaffrey, which is probably why I liked it more than others. But saying that, it still is one of my all time favorite books. I read this in early high school and it hooked me with a world of telepathy set in the future of Earth after we have achieved commercial space travel and branched out to living on other planets. Romance is part of it but in my opinion is the side of the greater science fiction plot. Out of the 5, which I have only read 4 of, I liked the first 2 the best but still enjoyed the others. Now I haven't read her Pern Novels, but I did get to most of Scorna and I still prefer this series.
