This is a slightly dated book about what it is like to be an intern, as dictated by 3 interns who volunteered to document their experiences in the 1980's. The author compares the internship life to a form of hazing in order to join the fraternity of medical providers. The author has an earlier book about life as an intern, also told through the voices of 3 volunteers in the 1970's and he compares their experiences. An eye opening expose of what interns have to go through.
