I love all of Anne Lamott's books. This is no exception!

I'm a huge fan of LaMotte and really enjoyed this book. It tells of a woman (a tad eccentric - and a burgeoning alcoholic) raising her daughter, Annie, alone - the growth she makes as a mother, a friend, and a partner.

I enjoyed the book, although I wish I had read it prior to having read "Crooked Little Heart." Anne Lamott has become one of my favorite writers, and the way she develops characters is wonderful. If you are thinking of reading this book, I would suggest you read this first and then go directly to "Crooked Little Heart," which I would give five stars. These make a fine pair for readers.

If Elizabeth Ferguson had her way, she's spend her days savoring good books, cooking great meals, making fun of tedious suitors, and waiting for the love of her life to walk in the door.
