I just finished my book Roses in December and I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone who has suffered the loss of someone they love. She writes with an honesty that is gripping and it is in no way so heavy that you cannot bear it. She leads you along in her sorrow without being too heavy handed with it. I found this book to have just the right balance in conveying hope and faith despite an ugly world where ugly things happen. She proves encouraging words using the metaphor of roses in our lives to draw us back to the center place where there is peace, rest, and God, once more. I give this a 4.2 and ask God to continue to allow others to be healed of their deepest pain and grief through the words of someone whos been to that dark place more than once.

I read this book many years ago after meeting the author and hearing her story. It is one of hurt, loss, hope and healing. I can honestly say that it was something I will never forget.
