What a great book! Lisa Jewell has written a brilliant tale about a guy who is finding out that he has just let life pass him by, and wants to change that, though sometimes he needs a little nudge in the right direction. I don't read a lot of general fiction, sticking mainly to romance, but something kept pulling at me to try this book. My instincts didn't fail me, this is a light read full of humor and realization. Their were many sweet moments as we got to know Leah, Toby and his tenants. I was concerned that Toby would not be able to get the tenants to move on with their lives, allowing him to move on also, but was please with the resolutions.
I will be looking for more of Lisa Jewell's books to enjoy in the future.

Really enjoyed this book as I do all of Lisa's books. My only peeve is that I ordered what i thought was a new Lisa Jewell book, 31 Dream Street, but it turned out to be this book only with a different title. What is that all about? Would recommend this book by either title. I do have an extra copy now:)
I wasn't sure what to make of this book and just picked it up as a whim at first. It took me a while to get through, for some reason, but it was a great tale of how random strangers' lives interweave. Very interesting journey of the protagonist's endeavor to change and make something more of his life.
The characters were great, the story was entertaining, and i was sad when it was at the end, as i'll miss the people in the book. It would make a great movie!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I wasn't sure what to make of it at first, and decided to read this strictly based on the author's past novels. But once I got into the story, I couldn't put it down. The characters in this book are so REAL, so down-to-earth and relatable.
The main character, Toby, undergoes a slow transformation throughout the novel on his journey to start living, a transformation that is at times a bit sad -- I felt like I wanted to give him a big hug! :) The other characters in this book, Toby's lodgers, are well-written too - I found myself caring about all of them, and even got a bit misty-eyed when Joanne's backstory was finally revealed.
This is not your standard Brit chick-lit novel. It is so much more! With a satisfying, but not tidy, ending. I highly recommend this book!
