I own this series so when this book came out I of course requested it, even though it is a rogue hunter novel and not the typical Argeneau storyline that this series follows. Don't get me wrong it blends nicely but I found it to be an add on story, kind of like whipped cream on your latte, while good not necessary. However, I should mention that if you started with this go back and start at the beginning, just click on Sands name and her Areneau Vampire series is numbered so start at one and enjoy the ride.

I gave this book 4.5 stars because (a) it made me laugh out loud, and (b) Mortimer's 'lifemate' is not at all how he pictured she'd be, and (c) Samantha doesn't readily give up mortality for him and the great sex. The LOL part is only if you've read the previous books and understand how the whole 'lifemate' thing works. I also liked that Samantha was not sex-pot gorgeous, but instead, tall, lanky and flat chested.
The Bricker character has no filter and is hysterical. Overall an enjoyable read.

I love this book! I love it so much I would marry it... if I weren't so against myself getting married. Seriously though a really good read.

Samantha Willan and her sister's are taking a vacation in their family cottage when things start to go astray. Samantha is on the fast track to becoming a partner in a lawyer firm, and when her boss calls her for a favor, Samantha puts a temporary halt to the vacation to help him out. Garrett Mortimer is a rogue vampire hunter who is stationed next door to Samantha's cottage. When he finds he can't read Samantha (read her mind), he is stunned to find out she is is lifemate. Samantha is no where near what he envisioned the past 800 years. She is skinny, clumsy, and flat-chested. But Garrett comes to desire Samantha and soon wants her for his own. The only problem is, Samantha is terrified of bugs, bats, and things that go bump in the night!
Containing the famous Sands humor, the story still left me wanting more as no real background information was given for Garrett. A sliver was given for Samantha, but it was hard to build a character frame of mind without knowing WHO they really are. The mystery portion was thin, but worst of all, there was no happily ever after as there is in most Paranormal Romance. I will continue to read the series, and hope Book 11 is better than this one, as I am a Lynsay Sands fan.

Good book. A lot like her Argeneau series. easy read.
Excellent story. When Mortimer first meets his lifemate Sam he thinks she looks like Olive Oil from Popeye. Mortimer is a 600 year rogue hunter and does not have time for a life mate. Sam is a lawyer who is getting over her first and only love. The end is interesting as you know that you will see more of this couple. I will not spoil the ending. It is funny that Sam finds their rogue vampire.

another fast easy read of Sands with Garrett Mortimer.
This was an easy read and an enjoyable book. The ending was not my favorite and left more to be desired, but it was good.
This is the story of Sam and Mortimer and the story of their developing relationship. What I loved about this story is that when Mortimer realizes he can not read the slender Sam he, at first, rejects the idea of her as his Life Mate. Since his fantasy Life Mate never looked anything like the girl next door. Obviously he soon gets over that and starts to appreciate Sam for the woman that she is and realizes that she is the right woman for him. Hilarity ensues as it soon seems that Mother Nature is against their coming together, I wont spoil it but I laughed out loud!
The only criticism I did have was the character of Sam was a little too easy going and accepting of his 'midnight drives' any other woman would have given the man a little more heck over that.
One of my favorite things about this book was that it was not a story about Sam's turning, there could easily be a follow up to Sam and Mortimer's story if Ms. Sands ever chose. A good read, highly recommended for anyone whom likes/loves her series.

This book was very well written and I couldn't put it down until I had finished it. Hopefully there will be sequels with these two main characters. It is a good love story with laughs aplenty. The female love interest has some bad luck in some funny places. If you have read any of the series you'll love this book and if you haven't start because it is great.
I always enjoy the stories in this series. I haven't read any of them "in sequence" and still really want to read them all.

great book
Definitely a must read series.
More steamy fun from Lynsay Sands with her Immortal Vampires as the 'Good Guys.'
From back cover: The Rogue Hunter: An Immortal Who Protects the World from Renegade Vampires Samantha Willian is a workaholic lawyer. She's grateful for some rest and relaxation in cottage country, and after a recent breakup she wants to stay as far away from romance as possible. Then she meets her irresistible new neighbor. There's something strange and mysterious about his eyes. Is it just her imagination, or are they locked on her neck?
Garrett Mortimer is a rogue hunter. His last assignment united Lucian Aregeneau with his lifemate, and Mortimer is hoping this one will be less . . . adventurous. He's here to track down a reported rogue, but fun in the sun is every bloodsucker's nightmare. Worse, he can't seem to get his mind off Samantha, especially when he spies her skinny-dipping in the lake. After eight hundred years as a bachelor, is he ready to turn a volatile attraction into a lasting love affair?
