A shame we don't have someone like Will Rogers today, who can poke fun of us and make us see how ridiculous we are in the positions we take. While there were a number of interesting quotes in the book, I was disappointed not to see some of my favorites.

But I did discover some new favorites:

"If we didn't have two parties, we would all settle on the best men in the country and things would run fine. But as it is, we settle on the worst ones and then fight over them."

Backing that up was:

"I always did want to see Herbert Hoover elected. I want to see how far a competent man could go in politics. It has never been tried before."

Then there was:

"The income tax has made more liars out of the American people than golf has."
