Really enjoyed this Adriana Trigianii book she is my new favorite author.

Thought I would like this, but found it too predictable.
Although an enjoyable read, not nearly as addictive as Lucia, Lucia and the Stone Gap novels
Light, enjoyable read. Characters were quirky but familiar. The setting is New Jersey in 1970. All of the 70's details were right on.
Very entertaining. You have to be able to put up with the long winded descriptions of every fabric in existence, but the "voice" of the story is fun and laugh out loud enjoyable.

Nice little book. Not my favorite Trigiani, but a cute story.
Bartolomeo di Crespi thinks he's gotten his dream job when commissioned (after some finagling) to renovate his home parish church. As a successful and experienced interior decorator, he's thrilled that a bit of good old-fashioned Italian family influence has swayed the selection committee's choice. But he may have bitten off more than he can chew, especially while juggling family crises, various romantic entanglements (his and those of other family members), and a looming crisis that may put the whole thing in the dumpster.
Trigiani does a fine job here of creating the brawling, boisterous di Crespi family, complete with Bartolomeo's malaprop-ridden sister, a series of romantic entanglements, and a resolution that makes up in warm fuzzies for what it may lack in originality or believability.
Don't expect great literature here. Just enjoy.

I loved this book!! I guess because I grew up in New jersey I have a better understanding of the characters? I don't know... I just live the story line and the family ties and it kept my interest. I usually like books that are in-depth. but the indepth feelings of the average Nj's kept my interest!!
Rococo is the story of an interior decorator in the 1970s. B is from a large Italian family full of wild characters. His best friend is a woman who his family chose for him to marry, but they don't love each other. It is their 40th birthdays and they want changes in their lives. His dream is to redecorate the church he grew up attending. But the job may be more than B planned for.

It took me a while to realize it was about a man!! :) Ha ha. Very good story, though. I just love all of her books.
B (Bartolomeo) is design in his burb in Jersey. Sadly, he gets the shaft when his beloved Our Lady Of Fatima decides it's time for a redesign. Ultimately his prayers are answered, but what happens when he finally DOES get what he thinks he wants.... The characters are fun and the plot clips along. I read it in one sitting. A fun look at love, family and community.

Reading this book was refreshing and humorous. Love B's narrative. A personal look into an Italian family with all its quirks and nuances. A great read.
Trigiani is a wonderfully gifted author.
