This book is told in reverse order. It's the story of two older people who were married for a very short time and live on the island of Mallorca and of their children from other spouses. The book is a slow burn back in time to try to find out why the short lived marriage and why they essentially never spoke to one another again and of how their children's lives were intertwined through the years. I enjoyed the story and the setting. The island was its own character in many ways. It is a little slow in parts but you feel strongly for these characters.
