The Powell brothers are as different as Cain and Abel. Muir is a shy 17-year-old with big dreams. Moody is older, embittered and turns his anger on his brother. When Muir, in a drunken vision, discovers his life's purpose, the consequences are far-reaching and irrevocable.

I truly enjoyed this book.

My first surprise was to find out that this book is the follow up to Morgans The Truest Pleasure (another good book, which should be read before this one).

Then later on I notice familiar names that I have read before in one of his books. Come to find out the family that The Truest Please and This Rock tells of are neighbors to the family that you read about in Morgan's Gap Creek!

I really like Morgan's style of writing. Can't wait to read another Morgan book.

From the author of Gap Creek--an international best seller and book award winner. Takes place in the 1920's in the Appalachian Mountain world. An excellent read.

This was a nice listen for a long trip. My third book by this author, and he hasn't disappointed yet. Gritty, Southern fiction, a tale of two brothers always at odds, always messing up, and, of course, their long-suffering mother. I know that sounds flippant, but it isn't meant to be. I truly do recommend this book.
