Robert Cohen is a Canadian comedy writer. He was raised in Calgary, Alberta and has written for
The Simpsons (his only writing credit for this series is the season three episode, "Flaming Moe's"),
The Wonder Years,
The Ben Stiller Show,
MADtv,
Just Shoot Me!,
Father of the Pride, and
American Dad!. He is the younger brother of recurring
Simpsons writer Joel H. Cohen.
In 1991, he married then-girlfriend Janeane Garofalo as a joke, and they never bothered to divorce even after the relationship ended.
He is sometimes credited as Rob Cohen, but he is not the same Rob Cohen who directs action movies.
He and frequent collaborator Dana Gould wrote jokes for the video game Gex.
He is a friend of Aimee Mann. Her song "Guys Like Me" is based in part on him, and he directed her video for "Calling it Quits".
