Exceptional! Anyone that lives within 200 miles of the Gulf Coast should read this and anyone anywhere should read this.

This was very similar to a storm stories type thing you would see on the weather channel. The author highlights a lot of individual witnesses while also devoting relatively equal time to both major areas hardest affected by the storm. While I did not enjoy this as much as Isaac's Storm or many other storm stories I primarily was looking for a more technical account of the storm rather than a personal one.

This was a fascinating read but also heartbreaking.
Who hasn't heard of Hurricane Camille but who knew the storm affected the state of Virginia in such a horrific way? I didn't so this book really opened my eyes. The author laid the main characters of this true story out in such a manner that I felt as if I knew them personally.
