I love this series (read the last three books all in a row) and I especially enjoyed this one. There are a lot of characters (all memorable and delightfully drawn) and the scheming is complicated - which may make people who are reading it primarily for the romance have difficulty with its pacing - but I find the author does a seamless job of describing and explaining a complicated world without losing the reader, not even for a second. I love the complexity, and the pace is swift - the end comes much too soon for me :). Can't wait for the next book!

This is a wonderful series. Definitely not a standalone so of this is your first Wilks book please put it down and start from the beginning.

There are a lot of characters to keep track of and they are constantly growing and evolving in the series. The plot is your typical good vs. evil but it is seriously the characters that keep me reading.

I know in my library it's marketed as a romance but it is really more of a mystery/action/fantasy with some romantic elements thrown in.

Very good read.

I couldn't find this book at the local store, so I ordered it from Amazon, but they say it won't arrive until Dec, so I just bought it again and Kindle read it on my phone.
This 10th book of the Lupi series has a VERY SLOW start. I think it draaagged, into an unusual story telling that was ho hum boring. Finally it picked up into action, and understanding of the story.
I love this magic series, but this book was slow.
