This books ties up loose threads from Duane's earlier Star Trek/Rihannsu novels, bringing lots of her signature characters along: Ael t'Rllaillieu and the Bloodwing crew, Arrhae t'Khellian, K's't'lk.

The earlier books have just been released in one volume, so they're all available. It may seem silly to have a favorite Star Trek writer, but Duane is mine: I like her psychological, almost Zen approach to the characters (but there's lots of action too).

This book was a decent ending to the series. I enjoyed reading the whole set, although it didn't seem to fit with the Star Trek "history". As I have heard before and said many times, "Star Trek is like sex, even when it is bad it is pretty good". This book, and the original four, are worth reading.
