When her husband, Gordon, was arrested as a suspected serial rapist, Savanna Gray stood by her man, disbelieving he could be the monster the police claimed, until the evidence and circumstances were too much to discount any longer. Former friends turned their backs on her believing she MUST have known what was going on. Finally convinced Gordon is guilty as charged, she files for divorce, and moves herself and her two young children away from their Utah home, accusing eyes and angry neighbors to her grandparents' abandoned farm outside of Silver Springs, California.

Her only neighbor out in the country is Gavin, the tattooed musician/songwriter son of Aiyana Turner, the founder and director of New Horizons Boys Ranch. Gavin once was one of the troubled boys sent, by the state, to New Horizons when he didn't fit in with the foster family chosen for him. Aiyana had made the difference in his life and she eventually adopted him.

Savanna and Gavin instantly connect, but both are held back from pursuing a true relationship: Savanna by her world-destroying circumstances and Gavin by the recent news that his old girlfriend, Heather, may be pregnant with his baby. (She doesn't know which of two men could be the father.)

Savanna works to make the old farmhouse livable for her children, Bransom and Alia, and Gavin struggles to find the right path to take for the good of the unborn child that may be his. Heather's current boyfriend, also a contender for baby-daddy, wants nothing to do with a baby that might be Gavin's. And Gavin knows firsthand the consequences of being an unwanted child. After his own mother had died when he was 2, his father remarried. The new stepmother did not want the little boy around and went so far as to abandon him at a public park when he was only 6.

As Savanna and Gavin gradually work out what's really important to them, bad news out of Utah reveals that the charges against Gordon may be dropped due to a paucity of hard evidence and a dependence on circumstantial. And Gordon has put Savanna on notice that when he's released, he's coming for her, his children, and his revenge.

Right Where We Belong, the 4th book in the Silver Springs series, is a both a lovely romance and a tense, suspense story. The characters, Savanna, Gavin, and the children are sweet and belong together. Gordon, and his horrible mother are evil villains, not only to Savanna and the children, but each other, and the public as a whole. Heather, the on-again/off-again former girlfriend, is very, very believable as she tries to control Gavin with her neediness and the calculated âaccidentalâ pregnancy. I can recommend this book to romance readers, especially those that like suspense and drama mixed in.
